Storyline
Kenan Kozan is a man shaped by the Black Sea region he grew up in — the mountains, the loyalty codes, the weight of family name in a place where everyone knows everyone’s history. When a series of events forces him to confront the past he thought he had put behind him, the show begins its story about what it means to belong somewhere and what it costs when belonging becomes a burden.
Güneşin Doğduğu Yer launched on ATV in September 2026, with Burak Özçivit returning to screens in a drama set against the landscape of northeastern Turkey. It is an early-season show — still finding its shape — but the setting is distinctive and the lead performance gives it something to build on.
