Biography
Berk Atan was born on 26 September 1991 in İzmir. His mother’s family is of Bosniak descent and his father was a footballer; Berk played as a goalkeeper until his late teens. In 2012 he won Best Model of Turkey, which led him to acting, and he later graduated from the acting department of Beykent University’s Faculty of Fine Arts.
He made his acting debut in 2013 in Her Şey Yolunda and became known as Savaş Mertoğlu in Kanal D‘s Güneşin Kızları (2015 to 2016), followed by Selim in Cennet’in Gözyaşları (2017 to 2018). Since 2020 he has played Taner, an inventor, in TRT 1’s family drama Gönül Dağı, now in its seventh season.
The seventh season premiered on 5 September 2026 with a time jump and new cast members, and its ratings have been modest. In August 2026 Atan unfollowed the show’s official Instagram account, which led to unconfirmed rumours that he might leave.
