Storyline
It is 1998, and a group of misfit teenagers at an Istanbul high school are facing a problem: their favourite teacher is being transferred out. They decide to fix it the only way that makes sense to them — by making her fall in love with the new basketball coach. The plan is terrible. They are seventeen and very confident anyway.
Aşk 101 works because it understands how seriously teenagers take things that adults would brush off. The 1990s setting gives it a particular texture — no smartphones, no easy answers, just kids making a mess of things with their whole hearts. It is funny and tender and moves quickly across two short seasons.
