Biography
Ayça Ayşin Turan is a Turkish actress born in Sinop in October 1992 who has steadily built one of the more carefully curated careers in her generation of Turkish television performers. Known for her striking blue eyes and a naturalistic approach to emotion, she has earned both popular success and critical recognition.
Early life and education
Ayça Ayşin Turan grew up in Sinop, on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, as the youngest of seven siblings in a family that included a father from Kastamonu who worked as a teacher. She studied at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Communication, laying intellectual groundwork for a life in storytelling. She also received musical training at the Sinop Municipal Conservatory. Academically restless, she has since begun a second degree in Law and Justice — a pursuit that speaks to a curiosity that extends well beyond the screen. Her acting career began in 2011.
Awards and recognition
Ayça Ayşin Turan gained early experience through the romantic daily drama Dinle Sevgili (2011–2012) as Gülfem and the long-running series Karagül (2013–2016) as Ada Şamverdi. She continued in Altınsoylar (2016) as Burcu Kapan before landing her breakthrough lead role: Meryem Akça in the drama Meryem (2017–2018), playing a young woman who takes the blame for her boyfriend’s crime. Her star rose further with Ada Masalı (2021), a romantic comedy series that earned her the 2021 Golden Butterfly Award for Best Romantic and Comedy Actress — the clearest institutional recognition of her talents to date. The award reflected both her comedic timing and her ability to carry a series on her own terms, qualities that have made her one of the most sought-after lead actresses in Turkish television.
