Biography
Early life and education
Aslıhan Malbora was born on March 27, 1995, in Afyonkarahisar, a historic city in western Anatolia known for its marble, thermal springs, and Ottoman heritage. She grew up with a pragmatic intellect that led her toward engineering — she enrolled in the Food and Chemical Engineering department at Istanbul Technical University, one of Turkey’s most rigorous technical institutions. While studying engineering, she simultaneously pursued acting lessons at Akademi 35.5 in Istanbul, channeling a parallel creative life that would eventually take over entirely. The discipline and analytical thinking she developed through engineering gave her an unusual precision in her character work, and she made her television debut in 2017 shortly after completing her studies.
Awards and recognition
Aslıhan Malbora’s career trajectory has been swift and steady. After early roles in Seven Ne Yapmaz and Kalbimin Sultanı, she gained wider recognition through Her Yerde Sen (2018–2019) and Gel Dese Aşk. Her most internationally visible work came with the critically regarded crime series Üç Kuruş (2022–2023), in which her performance as the complex Leyla Çaka drew significant critical attention. She followed with Darmaduman (2023–2024) as Ece Servet and appeared in the Netflix film Geçen Yaz (Last Summer) as Ebru — expanding her global audience through streaming. Though formal award nominations have not yet accumulated at the level her talent suggests, she is widely recognized across Turkish media as one of the most promising actresses of her generation, with a distinctly modern, nuanced approach to complex female characters.
