Biography
Kubilay Aka was born on April 12, 1995, in Istanbul. He is a Turkish actor who came to the profession through formal education, studying airport management at Anadolu University before deciding to pursue acting seriously. His path into the industry reflects the deliberation of someone who made an intentional career choice rather than following a childhood ambition.
After his studies, Aka took professional acting lessons at a private academy and worked to build his craft before seeking television roles. His television debut came in Vatanım Sensin (2015–2016), a drama on Kanal D where he played Ali Kemal, a supporting role that announced his arrival in the industry with a performance that made him visible enough to be cast again. This led to other television work, including a supporting role in Çukur, a major ensemble drama on Show TV that became one of the defining series of its era.
Aka’s career has been characterized by a willingness to take on ensemble work, to be part of an ensemble rather than its center, and to serve the story above his own profile. He has appeared in multiple seasons of various dramas, building a resume that reflects consistent work across major networks. His filmography also includes feature film work, including a role in the 2017 film Arif V 216, demonstrating a flexibility across formats.
What has distinguished his career is his reliability. Casting directors know what they are getting with Aka — a professional who shows up prepared, who understands how to work as part of an ensemble, and who brings a quiet naturalism to his scenes. By 2026, when he was cast in the lead roles of Mercan Köşk on ATV, he had spent over a decade building toward a position where a lead role was a logical next step rather than a sudden leap.
