Early life and education
Faruk Aran was born on March 23, 1995, in Bornova, a district of İzmir, Turkey — a coastal city known for its open, intellectually liberal character. He was drawn to performance from an early age and pursued formal training at the Haliç University Conservatory’s Theatre Department in Istanbul, where he developed the range and physicality suited to both classical stage work and the demanding period drama that would later define his career. He supplemented his conservatory education with camera-acting lessons from the acclaimed actress Birce Akalay — a mentorship that gave him specific insight into the technical demands of screen performance. His early professional years were spent building through small television parts before landing the roles that would establish him nationally.
Awards and recognition
Faruk Aran made his professional television debut in 2018 with a minor appearance in Arka Sokaklar, then gained his first significant notice as Kalender in İşte Bu Benim Masalım (2021) and Kuzu Beg in the epic historical drama Destan (2021–2022). He joined Al Sancak in 2023 before securing the role that would define his career to this point: Alaeddin Bey in Kuruluş: Osman — the globally watched historical series about the founding of the Ottoman Empire. His portrayal of the historical Alaeddin Bey, Osman Gazi’s brother, placed him in the center of one of the most ambitious productions in Turkish television history. He continued in that role into the spin-off series Kuruluş: Orhan in 2025, cementing his place in the franchise’s extended universe. His marital status is not publicly confirmed.
