Biography
Hafsanur Sancaktutan was born on March 20, 2000, in Istanbul. She is a Turkish actress who has built a career primarily in television drama since her late teens. Unlike many Turkish actors who begin their careers through theater or film, Sancaktutan established herself directly on television, where she has remained one of the most visible young actresses of her generation.
Her early work came in romantic dramas and family series, roles where she demonstrated an ability to carry emotional scenes with subtlety. Her breakout work came with roles in Gülperi (2018), a romantic drama that aired on Kanal D and became a regional success, and later Son Yaz (2021), where she played a more complex character in a story centered on family trauma and reconciliation. These roles established her as someone who could anchor a series and carry the emotional weight of a narrative.
Sancaktutan’s approach to acting is marked by a commitment to finding the psychological realism in her characters. She does not play surface emotions — she plays the reasons for emotions, the histories that shape them. This has made her valuable in ensemble dramas where the focus needs to stay distributed across multiple characters, and in romantic stories where the central pairing needs to feel earned rather than imposed.
By her mid-twenties, she had appeared in a range of television productions across multiple networks, demonstrating her ability to work across different production styles and story types. Her role in Mercan Köşk (2026) on ATV marks her largest lead role to date, and represents a moment where a sustained television career has led to a position where she can carry a series as its primary focus.
