Biography
Mehmet Taner Rumeli was born on 8 April 1985 in Ankara. He took part in school plays as a child and graduated from the theatre department of Ankara University’s Faculty of Language, History and Geography in 2006.
He started on television while still a student, debuting in 2000 in Bizim Evin Halleri. He became a familiar face in the long-running daily series Unutma Beni as Levent and appeared in Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki, İnadına Aşk and Kalbimin Sultanı. As Rıza in the romantic comedy Afili Aşk (2019 to 2020) he reached a younger audience, and he later played in Barbaroslar: Akdeniz’in Kılıcı, Hudutsuz Sevda, Deha and Eşref Rüya.
He is married to Ceyda Âşık. In September 2026 he joined the cast of Show TV‘s Sevdan Bir Ateş as Yaman Ganioğlu, a tribal leader who holds Mirza responsible for his brother’s death.
