Sitare Akbaş was born on 6 October 1988 in Istanbul and studied theatre at Istanbul University’s State Conservatory. She began acting as a child, playing Ayşe in Beşinci Boyut in the mid-2000s.
As an adult she has played Zeyno in Akasya Durağı, Özge in Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?, Fifi in Sen Çal Kapımı, Dilber in Ramo, Birgül in Kızıl Goncalar, and Merve in Çarpıntı, and appeared in Kırmızı Oda. In 2020 she starred in the film Ben Bir Denizim, which won her Best Actress at the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival. She married Cengiz Orhonlu in 2025.
In 2026 she joined the cast of Sevdan Bir Ateş as Destan.
