Mehmed Season 4: Release Date, New Cast & Uzun Hasan Revealed

Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı Season 4 is getting closer, and the wait for the new season is almost over. After the Season 4 reading rehearsal, filming is scheduled to begin on August 29, 2026, with the first episode expected to arrive around the second week of September 2026. But the biggest change isn’t simply the return of Sultan Mehmed. Season 4 is moving the story forward in time, introducing older versions of Mehmed’s sons and bringing Şehzade Cem into the story. At the same time, several new actors are joining the cast, while Uzun Hasan is set to become one of Mehmed’s biggest rivals. Here’s everything we know so far about Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı Season 4.

Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı Season 4 Release Date

The production of Season 4 is moving forward, with filming officially scheduled to begin on August 29, 2026.

The cast has already completed its reading rehearsal, an important step that usually takes place shortly before filming begins. According to the available information, Episode 1 of Season 4 is expected around the second week of September 2026.

The exact broadcast date has not been specified in the source material, so fans will have to wait for an official announcement for confirmation.

Season 4 Brings a Major Time Jump

One of the biggest changes in the new season is the time jump.

During Season 3, Mehmed’s sons Bayezid and Mustafa were still young. Season 4 changes that completely. Both princes are now older and will be portrayed by new actors.

This allows the series to explore a completely different stage of Mehmed’s life and reign.

The arrival of three active princes also introduces a new family dynamic, with the future succession of the Ottoman Empire becoming an increasingly important part of the story.

Three Princes, One Throne

The biggest storyline of Season 4 could revolve around Mehmed’s three sons: Şehzade Bayezid, Şehzade Mustafa, and Şehzade Cem.

Caner Topçu as Şehzade Bayezid

Caner Topçu will play the adult version of Şehzade Bayezid, the future Sultan Bayezid II.

Because the character is now older, viewers can expect a different personality and appearance compared with the younger version seen previously.

Bayezid’s future position in Ottoman history makes his presence particularly important to the long-term story.

Özgü Delikanlı as Şehzade Mustafa

Özgü Delikanlı joins the series as the adult Şehzade Mustafa.

Like Bayezid, Mustafa has been recast because of the time jump. His relationship with his father and brothers could become an important part of the new season.

Şehzade Cem Enters the Story

The most interesting new addition is Şehzade Cem, the younger son of Mehmed and Çiçek Hatun.

A young actor believed to be Ömer Erkan Ozan is set to portray Cem as a child.

Historically, Cem would later become central to one of the most dramatic succession struggles in Ottoman history. After Mehmed’s death, Cem challenged his brother Bayezid for the throne. His defeat eventually forced him into exile and turned his struggle for power into an international political issue.

This historical background could give Season 4 a major long-term storyline.

New Actors Join Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı Season 4

Season 4 isn’t only introducing older versions of familiar characters. Several completely new faces are also joining the cast.

Hilmi Cem İntepe is joining the series as a foreign envoy.

Burcu Kirman is also entering the cast as Nurbanu. Some viewers may recognize her from her role as Bernard’s sister in the first season of Salahuddin Ayyubi.

Another familiar face for Kuruluş: Osman fans is also joining the production. The actor who previously portrayed Yakub Bey, leader of the Germiyan principality in Season 5, has signed on for Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı. However, his new character has not yet been revealed.

The cast is further expanding with Alber Turaidi and Enver Gani, although their roles remain undisclosed.

Molla Lütfi Actor Leaves the Series

While several new actors are arriving, one familiar character is leaving.

The actor who portrayed Molla Lütfi has officially exited Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı and has moved to Teşkilat.

His departure represents one of the changes taking place as the series enters its fourth season.

Uzun Hasan Becomes Mehmed’s Main Rival

Another major reason to be excited about Season 4 is Uzun Hasan.

He has been confirmed as Sultan Mehmed’s main rival in the upcoming season.

However, the conflict is expected to be more complicated than a simple hero-versus-villain story. Director Ahmet Yılmaz has emphasized that the characters are not simply divided into good and evil.

Instead, figures such as Mehmed and Uzun Hasan are presented as people acting according to what they believe is best for their own states.

This approach could create a much more layered political conflict.

Sultan Mehmed Has Changed Too

The time jump isn’t only visible through the younger characters.

Serkan Çayoğlu, who plays Sultan Mehmed, now appears with a longer beard, fuller mustache, and visible grey streaks.

The new look reflects the passage of time and the growing weight of ruling an empire.

Mehmed is no longer simply the young conqueror viewers saw earlier in the series. He is now an older ruler dealing with political threats while simultaneously watching his sons grow into potential rivals for the future throne.

The Father and His Three Sons

Perhaps the most important development in Season 4 is that all three of Mehmed’s sons are now active characters within the story.

This creates the foundation for a much more personal conflict.

While Mehmed remains alive and powerful, the princes must live under their father’s authority. Yet the history surrounding Bayezid and Cem means viewers already know that the question of succession will eventually become extremely important.

The series can therefore build tension gradually, showing the relationship between father and sons before the rivalry reaches its historical peak.

Why Season 4 Could Be Different

Season 4 appears to be moving away from a story focused primarily on conquest and military campaigns and toward a broader combination of family conflict, succession politics, diplomacy, and rival powers.

There are now several major storylines operating at the same time:

  • Sultan Mehmed’s continuing rule
  • The growing rivalry surrounding his sons
  • The introduction of Şehzade Cem
  • Uzun Hasan’s challenge
  • New foreign and political figures
  • Changing palace dynamics
  • The long-term question of Ottoman succession

This gives the upcoming season plenty of room for political drama alongside the historical battles fans expect from the series.
