Early life and education
Bensu Soral was born on March 23, 1991, in İnegöl, a district of Bursa in northwestern Turkey. She grew up with a creative sensibility and a keen eye for visual storytelling, which led her to pursue a degree in Graphic Design at Marmara University’s Faculty of Fine Arts in Istanbul. This artistic background influenced the precision she brings to her screen performances. She is the sister of fellow actress Hande Soral, and the two have often been celebrated together as one of Turkish entertainment’s most talented sibling pairs. After completing her studies, Bensu transitioned into acting and quickly made a mark in both film and television.
Awards and recognition
Bensu Soral’s breakthrough came through a string of memorable television roles — from the drama Yol Ayrımı in 2012 to the teen hit Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar in 2015. Her portrayal of Melek Yılmaz in the acclaimed crime series İçerde (2016–2017) earned her widespread critical praise and a nomination for Best Actress at the 2017 Golden Butterfly Awards. On the film side, she appeared in the comedy Organize İşler 2 in 2018 alongside beloved veteran actors. Earlier in her career she received the Pantene Golden Butterfly Shining Star award in 2015, marking her as one of the most promising new faces in Turkish entertainment. She married Hakan Baş, and the couple are frequently featured in the Turkish media as a beloved public pair.
