Storyline
Kemal Soydere grew up with very little, but he built himself up from nothing through quiet persistence. When he crosses paths with Nihan Sezin — an art teacher from a wealthy Istanbul family — he falls for her hard and completely. She feels the same. But Nihan’s world is complicated in ways Kemal doesn’t yet understand, and her family has plans for her that have nothing to do with love.
What follows is a long, painful story about two people who keep finding each other and keep getting torn apart. Between a controlling fiancé, family debts, and circumstances that seem designed to punish good intentions, Kara Sevda asks whether love is enough when everything else is working against it.
