Tuba Ünsal

Tuba Ünsal is a Turkish actress and former model with a career spanning more than two decades, known for her versatility across drama, comedy, and historical production. Born on December 7, 1981, in Denizli, Turkey, she began in the fashion world before transitioning into acting, where she built a reputation as one of Turkish television and cinema’s more reliably compelling performers.

Early life and education

Ünsal studied sociology at Istanbul University, bringing an intellectual rigour to her work that belied a career that started in modelling. Her television debut came in the late 1990s, and she steadily accumulated credits through the 2000s. One of her most widely-seen early film roles was in Vizontele Tuuba (2003), where she played the title character, earning widespread acclaim. She went on to star in the drama series Çocuk (2008) and the popular Ruhumun Aynası (2014). In 2024 she joined the cast of Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı as Mara Hatun, a historically significant figure in the story of Mehmed the Conqueror. Ünsal has been married twice — first to entrepreneur Murat Pilevneli, and then to journalist Mirgün Cabas — and has children from these relationships.

Awards and recognition

No major individual awards have been formally confirmed for Tuba Ünsal. Her film role in Vizontele Tuuba and her sustained television career remain the cornerstones of her public recognition.
