Taha Baran Özbek was born on 1 January 1998 in Istanbul and graduated from the cinema and television department at Istanbul Kültür University.
He entered the industry in 2018 with a busy first year that included Bir Litre Gözyaşı (as Sahir), Dip and Bizim Hikaye. He then played in Azize, Necdet in Kırmızı Oda and Şahin in Akrep. He became better known as Aktimur Bey in Kuruluş: Osman (2022 to 2023), followed by Kaan in Kirli Sepeti and Mert in the 2025 film Karantina. In 2026 he also played Yiğit in atv‘s Aynı Yağmur Altında.
In September 2026 he joined atv’s Mercan Köşk as Poyraz Mercandağ, the youngest and most hot-tempered son of Cahit.
