Biography
Early life and education
Şükrü Özyıldız was born on February 18, 1988, in İzmir, Turkey’s vibrant Aegean coastal city. He comes from a background with mixed heritage — his father is of Rum (Greek) descent and his mother of Turkish descent — which gives him a distinctive look that has contributed to his status as one of Turkey’s most photographed actors. His academic path was unconventional: he enrolled in Mechanical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University before transferring to Ship Machinery Engineering at Ege University, and it was only after completing a period of acting training in Portugal that he committed fully to performance. This roundabout route through engineering gave him an analytical discipline that complements his natural ease on camera. He has one sister.

His role as Özgür in Ekşi Elmalar (2016) drew critical praise and demonstrated a range beyond his initial romantic hero roles. His most mainstream action showcase came with Akıncı (2021), a superhero-themed production in which he took the title role. He has appeared in Organize İşler 2 and built an international social media following that regularly ranks him among Turkey’s most followed male entertainers. He is a practicing Muslim who remains unmarried, and his consistent presence across television, film, and brand endorsements has placed his net worth among the higher tier of his generation.
