Selen Uçer was born on 5 May 1983 in Istanbul. She studied chemistry at Boğaziçi University and then trained in theatre at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Her screen career began with Anlat İstanbul in 2004. In the 2007 film Ara she played Gül and won Best Actress at the 15th Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, shared with Ayça Damgacı. She has worked in arthouse cinema and television, including Hanımın Çiftliği, and won the Golden Orange for Best Actress at Antalya for Aşk Büyü vs. (2019).
In 2026 she joined the NOW series Anne Yarısı as Altın.
