Biography
Özge Yağız is a Turkish actress born in Istanbul in 1997 who has quickly established herself as one of the more compelling young talents on Turkish television. There is a quietness to her screen presence that draws attention in a way that louder performers rarely manage — an ability to suggest inner life without announcing it.
Early life and education
Özge Yağız was born and raised in Istanbul and went on to study at Başkent University, where she pursued communication sciences. Her educational background — focused on the mechanics of how stories are transmitted and received — may well have sharpened the instincts she brings to character work. She has one sister, Ezgi Yağız. Her transition from student to working actress was relatively swift, and she began attracting casting attention before she had finished her studies.
She has kept her personal life largely private and has not disclosed any relationship status publicly.
Awards and recognition
Özge Yağız first appeared in Adını Sen Koy (2018) as Zeliha before landing the role that brought her to wide attention: Reyhan Tarhun in Yemin (The Promise / The Oath, 2019–2020), a lead role that required her to carry an emotionally demanding narrative across many episodes. She continued with the drama Sol Yanım (My Left Side, 2020–2021) as Serra Yıldırım and then appeared in İçimizden Biri (2021). Her role as Büşra Kalkan Saruhanlı in the family-crime drama Baba (2022) showed a maturer, grittier side to her range, and she subsequently starred as Feraye Yılmaz in the romantic series Safir (Sapphire, 2023). She also appeared as Seher in Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi (2022). Her career arc over just a few years demonstrates the kind of consistent forward momentum that marks out actors with genuine long-term potential.
