Biography
Early life and education
Onur Bay was born on May 4, 1996, in Istanbul, Turkey. He began acting at just ten years old — an age when most children are still deciding what they want to be — and his early start in the long-running police procedural Arka Sokaklar placed him in front of Turkish audiences throughout his formative years. Growing up on set gave him a practical education in performance that few acting schools can replicate: scene timing, camera work, and character consistency all became second nature. He continued his academic education at Istanbul University while building the adult side of his acting career, navigating the difficult transition from child star to mature actor with a deliberateness that reflects his strong work ethic.
Awards and recognition
Onur Bay is best known for his twelve-year run as Aydın in Arka Sokaklar — a character he grew up playing and who became one of the most familiar young faces in Turkish television households from 2006 onward. The series maintained consistently strong ratings throughout his tenure and remains a milestone in his career. He expanded his filmography with a supporting appearance in the comedy classic Kardeş Payı (rated 8.1 on IMDb), a minor role in the blockbuster Organize İşler 2: Sazan Sarmalı, and film work alongside Kolpaçino. In 2023 he joined the cast of Sultan Orhan — the spin-off of the massively popular Kuruluş Osman — marking a deliberate pivot toward the historical drama genre that currently dominates Turkish television. Now in his late twenties, he approaches this new chapter of his career with the experience of a performer who has never known a life off-screen.
