Biography
Early life and education
Belgin Şimşek was born on December 10, 1996, in Istanbul, Turkey. She grew up in a large family — with two sisters and a brother — whose parents came from Giresun and Ordu on the Black Sea coast, giving her an Anatolian warmth that registers immediately on screen. Her academic choices were surprising: she initially studied electro-neurophysiology, a specialized medical field that trains students in the technical measurement of neurological function. It was a path she abandoned in favor of acting, ultimately training at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Center on a scholarship — the same center named after Turkey’s greatest comedic stage and screen legend — where she received the disciplined, craft-focused preparation that underpins her professional work.

Her television presence expanded with a role in the comedy-drama Dünya Bu (2023), in which she played Buse. The same year brought her most career-defining casting to date: Gonca Hatun in Kuruluş: Osman — one of Turkish television’s most-watched historical productions with a global audience spanning over 150 countries. By 2024–2025 she had become one of the most recognized of the new generation of actresses entering Turkey’s historical drama franchise ecosystem, with industry observers tracking her as a significant emerging talent whose career momentum continues to build.
