Biography
Early life and education
Ferit Kaya was born on February 24, 1984, in Eğil, a small district of Diyarbakır in southeastern Turkey — a region with a distinctive cultural identity, of Zaza descent on his father’s side, and a history of artistic richness that runs alongside its complex political landscape. He has two older brothers. He moved to Istanbul to pursue formal acting education, enrolling at the Department of Theatre at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory — one of Turkey’s most rigorous and prestigious performing arts institutions, whose alumni include many of the country’s most respected stage and screen actors. The conservatory grounded him in classical theatrical technique, physical performance, and voice — training that is evident in the authority and grounding he brings to every role. He married Yasemin Ceren Topçu on September 14, 2024.
