Biography
Aslı Enver is a Turkish actress born in London on May 10, 1984, whose career has been defined by a quiet confidence and an ability to make complex characters feel completely inhabited. Born to a Turkish Cypriot father and a Turkish mother, Dilek Enver, she spent her early years in the United Kingdom before the family relocated to Turkey, where she would go on to build one of the more creditable careers in Turkish drama.
Early life and education
Aslı Enver attended Pera Fine Arts High School and trained at the Müjdat Gezen Art Centre before earning a theatre degree from Haliç University in Istanbul — a formal training background that has always been visible in the discipline and precision of her performances. She has two brothers and has spoken warmly of her family’s support throughout her career.
She married businessman Berkin Gökbudak on November 12, 2022, and the couple had a daughter in July 2023.
Awards and recognition
Aslı Enver rose to wider attention through the youth drama Kavak Yelleri, in which she played Mine Ergun, and then delivered a notable performance as Ahu Kumral in Suskunlar — a series with the distinction of being the first Turkish drama to be adapted in the United States, as the NBC series Game of Silence. Her career reached new heights with İstanbullu Gelin (Bride of Istanbul), in which she played the lead role of Süreyya Boran — earning her the Golden Butterfly Award for Best Actress in 2017 and Best Drama Actress at the Bilkent TV Awards (2017), followed by nominations across 2018 and 2019 for the same award. She also received Best Actress of the Year at Yeditepe University’s Delik Ödülleri (2019). More recent credits include Kayıp and the Netflix film In Good Hands, both as Melisa.
