Biography
Early life and education
Sevinç Gürşen Kıranlı was born on January 23, 1979, in Istanbul, Turkey. She began acting as a teenager, an unusually early start that gave her practical stage experience before most of her peers had entered conservatory training. She subsequently enrolled in the Theatre Department of Istanbul University’s State Conservatory, where she combined her already active professional development with rigorous academic study of dramatic theory and technique. The dual grounding in early professional experience and formal conservatory education produced a performer of exceptional poise and range. She married Mehmet Kıranlı and the couple have two children — one of whom she was famously carrying during filming of Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, integrating her real pregnancy into the role of Hatice Kalkandere in one of Turkish television’s more memorable examples of life-into-art.
Awards and recognition

She appeared in multiple productions through the late 1990s and 2000s, including Gümüş — the internationally distributed drama that helped open Turkish television to the Arab world. Her most celebrated recent role has been Hatice Kalkandere in Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (2015–ongoing), one of Turkey’s highest-rated and longest-running crime dramas, where her portrayal of the central female character became a fan favorite. She appeared in the feature film Aman Reis Duymasın (2019), joined Başım Belada (2023) as Vildan Varlı, and in 2025 was cast in Kuruluş: Orhan, expanding her already impressive historical drama portfolio alongside the newest chapter of Turkish television’s most ambitious franchise.
