Esila Umut

Esila Umut is a Turkish actress who gained her first major exposure through the long-running drama series Kırgın Çiçekler before moving into high-profile historical production. Born on January 1, 2001, in Antalya, Turkey, she entered acting while still a teenager, making her one of the younger performers to have secured recurring roles in two of Turkish television’s most prominent series.

Early life and education

Umut made her television debut in Kırgın Çiçekler (2015–2018), playing the resilient character Umut — a young woman navigating friendship, love, and betrayal over several seasons. She went on to appear in Gülbeyaz (2019), again playing a character named Umut. Her profile grew substantially when she joined the cast of Alparslan: Büyük Selçuklu (2021–2023), one of Turkish television’s major historical productions of the early 2020s. She also played İpek in the thriller Akrep (2020–2021). In 2024 she was cast as Gülbahar Hatun in Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı, a historically significant female figure in the story of Mehmed the Conqueror, bringing Umut into one of Turkish television’s most-watched drama productions.

Awards and recognition

No major individual awards have been confirmed for Esila Umut. Her most widely recognised work to date is her role in Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı (2024), alongside a career that began unusually early and has moved rapidly through high-profile projects.
