Biography
Early life and education
Betül Aktel was born in 1998 in Istanbul, Turkey. She grew up in Turkey’s most culturally active city and developed an early connection to performing arts that led her toward the acting profession. Growing up with siblings — at least one older and one younger — in Istanbul, she benefited from the city’s rich theatrical offerings and proximity to the television production industry. Her educational background has not been publicly disclosed, but she has received professional acting training as part of her preparation for her screen debut. She entered the entertainment industry relatively late by the standards of modern Turkish television, making her professional debut in her mid-twenties, but the roles she has landed have been of immediate prominence.
Awards and recognition
Betül Aktel made her television debut in 2023 with a guest role in Safir, and then secured her first significant dramatic part as Nevra in Yalı Çapkını (The Golden Boy, 2024) — a widely watched romantic drama that gave her national visibility almost immediately. The following year brought her most career-defining opportunity: the role of Halime Hatun in Kuruluş Orhan (2025), the anticipated spin-off of Kuruluş Osman — one of Turkey’s highest-rated historical epics. Playing a historically significant figure in a franchise with one of the largest viewerships in Turkish television history placed her instantly among the most-watched new faces in the industry. With fewer than three years of professional screen credits, she is one of the youngest performers to reach this level of series prominence, and her trajectory into 2025 and beyond is one of the most closely watched in Turkish entertainment.
