Biography
Ayla Baki Yücesoy was born on 29 September 1968 in Trabzon. She studied in the Theatre Department of Mimar Sinan University, joined the Trabzon State Theatre as a company actress in 1994 and has worked in live theatre ever since, in productions such as Ölü Canlar. She also helped organise the Black Sea Countries Children’s Theatre Festival.
For three decades she was known to theatre audiences but not to television viewers. That changed in autumn 2026 when TRT 1 cast her as Emriye Varoğlu in the second season of Taşacak Bu Deniz.
Emriye is Adil Koçari’s aunt and wet nurse, who returns from her mountain plateau to oppose his marriage to Esme. Baki is the aunt of Anıl Berk Baki, a contestant on Survivor 2018.
