What Happened to Bala Hatun After Kuruluş Osman?

When Kuruluş: Osman ended with Season 6, many viewers asked the same question: Where is Bala Hatun? Fans opened Kuruluş: Orhan expecting to see her again. But she simply wasn’t there. No farewell scene. No emotional goodbye. She was just… gone. At first, it felt confusing. But when we look at real history, the reason becomes clear. To understand what happened, we need to examine the historical timeline between the end of Kuruluş Osman and the beginning of Kuruluş Orhan.

Where Kuruluş Osman Ends in History

Although Kuruluş Osman is a television drama, it loosely follows real historical events.

By the later seasons of the series, Osman I has already declared the Ottoman Beylik.

In the show, Osman conquers several important castles:

  • İnegöl
  • Yenişehir
  • Bilecik
  • Kestel
  • Atranos

These victories weaken Byzantine control over the region.

However, one major event has not yet happened: the siege of Bursa.

Based on historical estimates, the final season of Kuruluş Osman likely ends around 1314–1317 CE.

The Timeline Gap Before Kuruluş Orhan

The new series begins during the final stage of the Siege of Bursa.

Historically, the siege began sometime between 1317 and 1320 and lasted several years. Instead of using large siege weapons, the Ottomans surrounded the city and cut off supplies.

The city finally fell on April 6, 1326.

This means there is a 7–10 year gap between the end of Kuruluş Osman and the beginning of Kuruluş Orhan.

And during those years, something very important happened.

The Real History of Bala Hatun

In historical sources, Bala Hatun’s full name is Rabia Bala Hatun.

She was the daughter of Sheikh Edebali, the influential religious leader who guided Osman throughout his life.

Bala Hatun was not just Osman’s wife.

She was one of the most important figures supporting the early Ottoman state.

However, historical records indicate that Bala Hatun died around 1324 CE.

This means she passed away during the siege of Bursa, two years before the city finally fell.

Where Bala Hatun Was Buried

Historical sources confirm that Osman I himself buried Bala Hatun in Bilecik.

Her grave is located next to the tomb of her father, Sheikh Edebali.

Even today, their tombs in Bilecik remain important historical sites visited by many people.

So when viewers notice that Bala Hatun is missing in Kuruluş Orhan, it is not because the writers ignored her story.

It is because, according to history, she had already passed away.

The Tragic End of Osman’s Journey

There is another emotional historical detail connected to this story.

When Bursa finally fell in 1326, Osman I was already dying.

Some historical accounts say he received the news of the city’s conquest while on his deathbed.

Instead of Osman entering the city himself, it was his son Orhan who walked through the gates and made Bursa the new Ottoman capital.

So Osman’s story ended in a bittersweet way:

  • His lifelong dream of conquering Bursa came true
  • But he never entered the city himself
  • And he had already lost Bala Hatun before that victory

Why Bala Hatun Is Missing in Kuruluş Orhan

Now the absence makes sense.

Between the end of Kuruluş Osman and the start of Kuruluş Orhan:

  • Nearly a decade passes in the historical timeline
  • Bala Hatun dies in 1324
  • The siege of Bursa continues until 1326

By the time the new series begins, Bala Hatun is already gone.

Her absence is not a mistake in storytelling.

It is simply history.
